Villarreal beat the side from Alicante 0-4 at the Ciudad Deportivo Camilo Cano

Villarreal defeated CF La Nucía 0-4 at the Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano, thanks to goals from Manu Morlanes, Raúl Albiol, a Pedraza own goal and Santi Cazorla. Javi Calleja’s men were superior to the side from Alicante and the result could have been even more in favour of the Yellows, were it not for the heroics of the home side’s goalkeeper and defence.

It was a match that the Yellows took seriously, controlling from the first minute. They dominated possession and play, they hardly let the home team have a kick and this superiority ended up showing on the scoreboard.

The clear chances came in the second half, and with them, the goals arrived too. After the break, Morlanes opened the scoring with a great shot from the edge of the area, and as the game was drawing to a close, Albiol scored after a corner; Pedraza scored an own goal; and just before the final whistle, Cazorla’s shot from outside the box made it four.

It was the penultimate pre-season test for the Yellow Submarine, who have five wins and a defeat so far this pre-season, and will play their last game before the league season starts against FC Bologna on Saturday.
