Alberto Moreno underlined the importance of the match against Maccabi Haifa (Thursday, 6:45pm CEST)
Villarreal CF left-back Alberto Moreno spoke to the media in the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to talk about the team’s situation and the Submarine’s important game tomorrow against Maccabi Haifa, corresponding to Matchday 4 of the UEFA Europa League 2023/24 group stage.
In his first intervention, Alberto Moreno stressed the importance of winning tomorrow to reach the top of the standings: “We need to move to six points. All we have in our minds is to win. We have to focus on ourselves, do things well and win to get the six points to lead the group.”
Asked about the aspects that the team needs to improve in order to get a better feeling, Alberto explains: “It’s clear that we need to improve in all aspects, although if we have more luck up front and are more forceful at the back, we’ll get better results. We have the squad to put together two super-competitive sides.”
Finally, Alberto Moreno stressed the need for teamwork to change the dynamic: “This squad has a lot of experience. There are many of us players who have lived through situations of this type at other clubs and we know how to solve them. Work, work and more work, which always pays off. The team must work together and with the help of the coach. It’s up to us to change.”
