Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez expects a tough game with three points up for grabs

The B team team coach appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming game against UCAM Murcia, which will take place tomorrow at 9pm CET at the Mini Estadi. Here are his standout quotes:

UCAM Murcia

“How they’ve started the season has been a surprise, but we’re expecting a difficult, hard-fought match. They have a great squad, players with a lot of quality, a new manager and a playing style that makes things very difficult for us. We know how difficult every game in this division is, so we’re expecting a really tough game tomorrow.”

How the match will be decided

“One of the keys to winning tomorrow will be our positioning without the ball. Despite where they are in the table, UCAM Murcia are a team with a lot of quality who score goals and are constantly creating chances, so we need to be focused. Another key thing will be knowing how to deal with their press when we have the ball. They are really intense with the press, so we need to be able to interpret the game well.”

A message to the fans

“The message that we’re sending to the fans is that we’re continuing to work hard to play well and put in attractive performances like the one two weeks ago against FC Barcelona B. We ask them to come and cheer us on, but the best message we can give is on the pitch, playing as best as possible every weekend so they can have fun when they come and see us.”

Filip Jörgensen’s first-team debut

“Our work doesn’t make sense if players in the B team don’t reach the first team. For those of us who have been working in the academy for a number of years, it comforts us seeing people make their first-team debuts, as well as those who train with them too. Filip’s situation, just like Íker Álvarez’s situation, is something we’re proud of. Both have a lot of potential.”
