The Yellows side are close to the Superliga de Valencia title and will take on the LaLiga Promises challenge

A season to remember and the best is yet to come. Villarreal U12s (Alevín A) are top of the table with 69 points, with four matches left of the U12s Superliga de Valencia. The team coached by Toni Olmo, Karim Hamidi, Vicent Masià, Mario Bárcena, Carlos Moreno have a 12-point advantage over second-placed Valencia CF, who have five games left, with their next match away to Sedaví on 8th May. In their last game, Villarreal U12s beat Patacona 1-0 thanks to a Pau Moliner goal.

The Yellows side’s season is excellent so far, with 24 wins from 26 games. They only have drawn once (2-2 against Torre Levante CF) and lost once (0-1 against Mislata UF) at this stage of the competition, something unthinkable at the start of the season given that the Superliga is so tight, with most teams very evenly matched.

That the top 8-a-side team in the Yellows Academy won every game until Matchday 20 is by no means luck, with the side the top scorers and the team conceding the fewest goals in the competition, having scored 96 and let in just 17.

A big part of these great statistics from from attackers David Beltrán, the league’s top scorer with 24, and Sergio Esteban, who has 23 goals, as well as goalkeepers Pablo Polo and Marc Fauli.

However, this side’s campaign is not over with the end of the league. They already cannot wait for the LaLiga Promises competitions, first in Spain from 14th to 16th June, and then in New York, from 28th to 30th June. From there, the Yellow Submarine youngsters will once more face the best academies from not only Spain, but the whole word, after other tournaments in recent months.

In the International Fallas Trophy Ciudad de Burriana, the Yellows lost the final against RCD Espanyol after beating Sevilla in the quarter-finals and Barcelona in the semi-finals, who were another of the teams hoping to win the tournament. This Easter week, they were named Santa Ponsa Cup champions, beating Real Betis on penalties in the quater-final. In the league championship, they face Valencia and Levante, who they have beaten in recent meetings.
