The tournament organised by Villarreal CF will bring together more than 15,000 people in the region this Easter
The Easter Yellow Cup is back this Easter! The tournament organised by Endeka, the company in charge of managing Villarreal CF’s campuses and tournaments, will once again bring together more than 15,000 people in the region of Castellón, including players, coaches, family members and staff, from 14 to 17 April, after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The competition has become one of the most popular events in the region.
Castellón de la Plana, Oropesa del Mar (Marina d’Or), and Benicàssim will host the young footballers from teams from all over the world. The three towns will welcome teams from countries such as the United States, Japan and Israel, among others. The coastal areas of the Plana Alta are another attraction to make this prestigious international tournament attractive, as well as the Villarreal CF brand. Most of the teams will spend three nights in the region, but some of those who have travelled many kilometres to reach the Costa Azahar will stay for up to a week to continue enjoying themselves after the tournament.
In addition to the teams arriving from abroad, some of the youth teams of LaLiga will also be present at the four venues of the tournament, such as Miralcamp, the Ciutat Esportiva Pamesa Cerámica, the CEM of Vila-real and the Sports Facilities of Alqueries. Schools of the stature of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Sevilla FC, Real Sociedad or Levante UD, as well as Villarreal CF, will display all their football and try to win the tournament.
Visit to the Estadio de la Cerámica
If playing their matches at the Submarine’s facilities is already a prize for the youngsters who come to Vila-real to compete in this tournament, even more so is the visit to the Estadio de la Cerámica, a ‘Champions’ stadium where magical nights have been experienced, such as the victory over Bayern Munich last Wednesday. The members of the participating clubs will take a tour of the Estadio to get to know it first hand.
In addition, the yellow club has organised other activities outside of the competition itself, such as the coaches’ dinner, the welcome cocktail, the grogueta fanzone, attractions at the different campuses and the closing ceremony.
