Season-ticket holders will have to request their ticket against Atalanta BC (Tuesday 14th September, 9pm CEST)
As has been the case in previous matches, due to the pandemic and the current capacity restrictions on attending sporting events, Villarreal CF will open an online platform for its season-ticket holders to request their ticket to attend the UEFA Champions League opener against Atalanta BC, which will take place on Tuesday 14th September at 9pm CEST, at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
Villarreal vs Atalanta will have a 60%-capacity crowd
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the local authorities have authorized a capacity of 60% for professional open-air sporting events.
In European ties, UEFA adapts to the limitations on capacity in each region, so the game between Villarreal and Atalanta will take place with the capacity established by the Generalitat Valenciana. However, UEFA regulations also insist that the home club need to provide 5% of the capacity to visiting fans.
This Wednesday at 10am CEST, the registration period for ticket opens
Season-ticket holders who want to attend the game can do so from this Wednesday at 10am CEST via the following platform TICKETS, which will be open until Sunday at 11:30pm CEST. Fans can sign up individually, or in groups of two, three, four, five or six people, as long as they are living at the same residence. Fans who wish to can go to the official stores to make their ticket request in person.
From Monday 13th September, the club will tell those who have made their request whether or not they have been selected to attend the game.
Selection criteria
Should there an excess of demand, Villarreal CF will assign tickets to their season-ticket holders in order of the moment they made their request, until the capacity established by the local authorities has been filled.
With the aim of reaching the capacity allowed by the authorities, the club asks its season-ticket holders to only request a ticket if they are certain that they are going to be able to attend the game. The club will take into account those season-ticket holders who request a ticket, confirm their attendance and do not attend the game for future events and/or processes of requesting tickets.
Tickets not on sale: ONLY SEASON-TICKET HOLDERS WILL BE ABLE TO REQUEST THEIR TICKET
As the number of Villarreal CF season-ticket holders is higher than the capacity allowed by the Generalitat Valenciana, the club will not put tickets on general sale against Atalanta. Only season-ticket holders will be able to request their tickets for the game. The Italian side will look after ticket sales for their fans, corresponding to 5% of the permitted capacity.
Protocol for access to the Estadio de la Cerámica
Once the ticket has been assigned, the club will indicate the time fans should arrive at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
- Mask use is compulsory at all times.
- Bringing food and drink into the stadium is prohibited. The catering service at the Estadio de la Cerámica will be closed. Only water bottles, without a top, of up to 500ml will be allowed.
- Smoking is not allowed.
