Sara Monforte advocates looking for effectiveness and forcing mismatches in Sporting Club de Huelva’s well-worked defensive framework

Villarreal Women head coach Sara Monforte has appeared in front of the media this Friday to analyse the upcoming match against Sporting Club de Huelva, which will take place on Sunday at 12pm CET at the Mini Estadi.

She praised the defensive level of the Andalusian side: “They are a very tough team who make the most of quick transitions. I expect a similar game to last year.”

To get the first win at the Mini Estadi, Sara Monforte points out that the way forward is to be practical, as in away games: “We have to take some away games as an example. Without going any further than the last win against Alhama. We have to play more like what we try to do away than what we have played at home so far. We’re playing at home again and we need to take a step towards improving and giving a good image in front of our fans.”

The Villarreal Women coach also acknowledged that the team are confident and on course to achieve their objective: “We’re in good spirits and we’re clear that our objective is to stay up. We have reflected on our expectations in the games and now we believe that we need to rectify some of our approaches to games.”

Finally, Monforte praised the good work of the upcoming opposition and gave the recipe for victory: “We have to be practical, know what we’re playing for, carry out the game plan and stay focused. Huelva are a team that have been in the first division for years, they know what they play and do a very good job. It’s very difficult to beat them. They have a great defensive unit. We have to look for their weakest points or take advantage when they attack and leave more space.”
