Spain U21s beat Germany in the final (2-1) and recoup the title of U21 continental champion in Italy

Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza was crowned European U21 champion with Spain, after beating Germany 2-1. The left-sided player, who did not feature in the final, came off the bench for ‘La Rojita’ against Belgium in the group stage (2-1).

Karl Toko Ekambi was named in the starting XI for Cameroon, and played 75 minutes in their draw with Ghana (0-0) in the Africa Cup of Nations. The Indomitable Lions are top of Group F with four points. Samu Chukwueze did not play as Nigeria lost 2-0 to Madagascar. The Green Eagles finished second in Group B; and reached the Round of 16.

In the Copa América, Argentina and Ramiro Funes Mori reached the semi-finals, after beating Venezuela 2-0. The Yellows defender did not feature in the game. The Albiceleste will try to get to the final in their semi-final against host nation Brazil.
