Alberto Moreno, Francis Coquelin and Álex Baena have reached the 100-game mark this season
Villarreal CF paid tribute to the players who have been centenarians throughout the current 2023/24 season in the build-up to the match against Sevilla FC. The club’s CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, presented the commemorative shirts for surpassing 100 appearances to Alberto Moreno, Francis Coquelin and Álex Baena.
The defender from Seville arrived at the club in the summer of 2019 and has made a total of 123 official appearances as a Yellow. The French midfielder, who joined the Submarine a year later, has played 106 games as a Villarreal player. And finally, Álex Baena, who came through the club’s youth ranks, has already made 113 appearances for the Yellows’ first team at the age of just 22.
