Puerto Rican Davo Vega fan went to the Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool

Living 6678km from Vila-real, hasn’t stopped him from being mad about the Yellow Submarine. Davo Vega started to follow Villarreal CF ten years ago. Now his love for the Yellows is one of his big passions: “Villarreal are a club which allow you to dream and enjoy yourself to the fullest.”

A lover of good football, Vega became a fan of LaLiga and, after following the matches for a while, he fell in love with Villarreal CF. As he got to know the history of the Submarine and the great players who had worn their shirt, his passion for the Submarine grew rapidly. Names like Forlán, Senna, Riquelme and Cazorla had awakened in him a strong feeling.

The first time he was able to watch the Yellows live was in 2017, in a friendly between Boca Juniors and Villarreal CF which took place at La Bombonera. The second time was even more special, as Vega was one of 21,000 fans cheering on the Yellows at the Estadio de la Cerámica in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool. “It was the best experience of my life,” says the Puerto Rican says.

When asked about his best memories as a fan, he says: “When I did the tour of the stadium and went through the tunnel as if I were a player, it was an incredible feeling to see the stands and feel like the stadium is hugging you, and it’s all on top of you.”

Here at Villarreal CF, we are telling you the stories of some of the Yellow Submarine’s biggest international fans with the ‘Yellows Around The World’ series.
