Dani Parejo spoke to Villarreal TV to analyse the Yellows’ brilliant victory over GNK Dinamo Zagreb (2-1), which sees the side qualify for the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League. “Villarreal went out to win from the first minute. We played extremely well against a good opponent. We were assured in our game plan, we were clear on what we wanted to do, and we respected the quality of the competition and our opponents.”
Additionally, the midfielder from Coslada underlined that the Yellows, far from sitting back on the good result that they picked up in the away leg, were superior to their opponents in the second leg as well: “We scored two goals, but we generally controlled the game tonight. We were better over the two legs and I think you could even argue that our performance deserved a more comprehensive score-line.”
