Parejo: “I’m happy to continue my time at a spectacular club”
Parejo: “I’m happy to continue my time at a spectacular club”

The midfielder will continue at Villarreal CF until 30th June 2026

Satisfaction. Villarreal CF midfielder, Dani Parejo, expressed his happiness at the press conference to announce his renewal. The Yellows No.10′ who will continue to wear the yellow shirt until 30th June 2026, is looking to the future with enthusiasm.

Happy to continue

“I am happy and pleased, a renewal is always a reason to be happy. Since I arrived at this club I have always said that I knew it because I was very close to it, and since I arrived I have always said that it is a spectacular club. A club that makes everything very easy, because it provides all the tools to make it so. The president, his family and the people at the club work to make it so. I think it is an exemplary club in every way. I’m happy to be here for two more years, and I hope to be able to help the club continue to grow and improve.”

Actors for a day in the contract announcement video

“Well, when they proposed to make two or three videos we decided to do this one, because I also believe that teammates are important in a renewal. It was Étienne and Pepe’s turn, but it could have been anyone. We had a great time making the video, although it’s true that we spent much longer than expected making it. We had a lot of laughs and it was fantastic, we really enjoyed it and I think everyone liked it.”

Performing at his best on the pitch

“I’m happy to play so much. Thank God I’ve only had a couple of one-off injuries and only one muscle injury. Every day there are more and more tools… food, recovery, rest, which are very important in the world of football, and which also help you not to get injured or to recover in much shorter periods of time. In the future I think about the day to day, I feel very good mentally and physically. I feel good, I’m happy, and I’m ready to continue at the level of demand that football has today.”

Connection with the coach

“It’s true that for me, Marcelino is one of the best coaches I’ve ever had, he’s a great head coach who works very well, and I also know him from another period which was also very successful. He is a demanding head coach and prepares matches very well, so I think he is a very good coach for a club like this.”

Exciting project

“This has been a very difficult season with many changes and difficulties, but now I see more stability. The team has clearer ideas and is more defined. Everyone knows what you’re going to find. We are on a great run, which we hope will continue in the final stretch of this season and the following ones.”

Team improvement

“It’s true that we had a bad time at the beginning, the team struggled and that also affected us all. Now we are changing all that, we are closer to Europe than to relegation, although we know that it is not an easy objective. This must be the idea now, to be a compact team in which everyone adds up, to be able to get Villarreal closer to where they deserve to be.”

Analysis of Atlético de Madrid

“This Monday we play against one of the best teams in Europe, as shown in the Champions League. It’s true that they come from two games in a row losing, but it’s Atleti. I think they have a magnificent coach and a spectacular squad. They are in the Champions League quarter-finals and it’s going to be a very difficult game. They are also playing for their place in LALIGA, as they are fifth now and they are playing for European Champions League places next year. They have a lot at stake and so do we. And I think that whenever we’ve played them here we’ve always had nice, entertaining games. Hopefully we can win again at home, it would be very important for us.”

Roig Negueroles: “Parejo is a very important player for Villarreal”

Villarreal CF CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, valued very positively the renewal of Dani Parejo, highlighting his enormous performance since he arrived at the club: “We are here to announce and present the renewal of Dani Parejo, a player who, as we saw yesterday, has a privileged mind. He has been a very important player in the successes we have had. A player who has played almost 90% of the minutes. We hope he can continue to give us that kind of performance over the next two years. We hope he can continue playing football for many years to come, as he is one of those players who loves football.”
