The Villarreal head coach is disappointed that the team didn’t make the most of their best moments and acknowledges the superiority of the opposition in the last half hour
Villarreal’s head coach, José Rojo ‘Pacheta’, has appeared before the media to analyse the defeat against Girona FC: “We were a bit of a mess. I have the feeling that we were not completely settled. I have to look at everything again to analyse and correct it. We played a good hour, which shows the team we want to be, having the ball and goal opportunities, but the half hour was a lack of control”.
Pacheta was also critical and hungry to improve for the next few games: “I’m worried about everything. We have to fix aspects of attack and defence. We were fantastic in attack for the first hour and then we were unstable in both areas. And that can’t happen to us any more. We have to continue in the same vein as at the start, whatever happens.”
Finally, the Yellows coach acknowledged Girona FC’s good performance, especially in the second half: “Our opponents were better than us in the last half hour and they punished us. It was an important game. We even took the lead and we didn’t know how to manage those periods.”
