Villarreal CF midfielder Francis Coquelin has undergone surgery today on his left Achilles tendon, at the Jean Mermoz Hospital in Lyon. The surgery was carried out by Doctor Bertrand Cottet-Sonnery, with the supervision of the Villarreal CF medical team. The French midfielder had discomfort in that area, and finally, it was decided the best course to take would be to carry out the operation with the hope of definitively eradicating the discomfort.

Paco Alcácer is also suffering from a Grade 2 myotendinous tear in his right soleus.

The recovery time of both footballers will depend on how they react to their rehabilitation.
