Wheelchair football will take centre stage of the build-up to the match against Atlético de Madrid

A-Ball, also known as wheelchair football, will take centre stage in the build-up to the LaLiga match this Sunday against Atlético de Madrid at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The Fan Zone will have a match between two teams, representing Villarreal and Spain. What’s more, Marcos Senna, former Villarreal captain and international with La Roja, current member of the club’s Institutional Relations department, and Aixa Salvador, Villarreal Women player, will receive recognition and will be named A-Ball ambassadors. Fans will also have a chance of trying A-Ball before the big match at La Cerámica.

A-Ball, a way of promoting integration

A-Ball (wheelchari football) is a new sport that has been invented, created and designed by Valencians for the rest of the world. A-Ball is backed by the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) and is currently in a national and international expansion stage. With this event, and thanks to Villarreal CF and its Endavant programme, A-Ball is continuing its expansion process, helping increase knowledge about it.

A-Ball and its Paralympic aspirations

A new sport that hopes to become a Paralympic discipline, A-Ball makes football accessible to all lovers of the sport. It is aimed at people who because of their limitations are unable to take part in football, making the sport available to them in a different way. Its game is based on a play of words, with ‘A-Ball’ sounding like able.
