The Burkinabe is looking forward to showing his full potential at the Submarine
Burkina Faso striker Bertrand Traoré was officially presented to the media in the press room of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground as the new Villarreal player.
Fernando Roig Negueroles, the club’s CEO, presided over the presentation of the new signing, whom he warmly welcomed and who he assures is a good reinforcement for the Submarine’s attack in the second half of the season.
Traoré, in his first comments, confessed how happy he was to arrive at a club like Villarreal: “I’m happy to be at such a big club. I’ve had injuries, but I’ve played for my country in the African Cup of Nations, so I’ve had a lot of experience. I already played here with Lyon and I was very impressed by the stadium because the people are very supportive.”
The Burkinabe right winger has played in big leagues such as the Premier League and Ligue 1, and now he has the opportunity to play in LALIGA. “It’s a league I’ve always followed. I thought I would never play in Spain, but luckily I have the opportunity to show who I am here. This football is very competitive and I hope to show my full potential”.
Traoré has already completed two training sessions with his teammates, whom he met, as well as the head coach, in last Sunday’s match against Cádiz. Speaking about the coach, Traoré admits: “He is a respected manager and I am very happy to be able to work with him. He has clear ideas and an attacking style of football. Besides, we have a squad with a lot of quality and a high level. I think we can do important things.”
Finally, Traoré explained that his main objective in the team is to contribute as much as possible until the end of the season and the immediate challenge is to win this Saturday against Deportivo Alavés.
