The Villarreal CF forward has scored three goals and provided four assists in his three games for the Spanish national team

A brilliant start. Since Gerard Moreno received his first call up to the Spanish national team on 4th October, the Catalan forward has made himself a regular in the side.

His numbers don’t stop there. The forward has worn the red shirt in three games, scoring three times and assisting four times. Therefore, the Yellow number 7 has been directly involved in seven of the 12 goals that Spain have scored against Malta (7-0) and Romania (5-0) during this international break.

After his great performance against the Maltese team, Gerard was picked in the starting XI again by Robert Moreno for the game against Romania. The Yellows midfielder Santi Cazorla also kept his place in the side. As if that were not enough, Raúl Albiol came onto the pitch at the Wanda Metropolitano in the second half.

Spain’s win against the Romanian national team puts an end the participation of Yellows players on international duty. In the next few hours, they will join up with Javi Calleja’s side to prepare for the league game against RC Celta Vigo.

The schedules of the matches played by the Villarreal CF internationals are as follows:

Santi Cazorla, Gerard Moreno, Raúl Albiol and Pau Torres (Spain):

  • Friday, 15th November: Spain vs Malta (7-0).
  • Monday, 18th November: Spain vs Romania (5-0).
