The Yellows fans welcomed the team bus, prepared a banner and gave José Manuel Llaneza a standing ovation
Villarreal fans showed once again on Tuesday that they are UEFA Champions League fans. Ahead of the historic last-16 clash against Juventus FC, the Yellows’ supporters came out in full force to set the atmosphere ahead of the game and to take the Submarine on their shoulders during the match.
The action kicked off two and a half hours before the game, at 6:30pm, when the ‘groguets’ fans accompanied the team bus from the exit of the Miralcamp Training Ground to the Estadio de la Cerámica. Once inside the Yellows stadium, the singing section, located in the corner, displayed a spectacular banner to motivate the players, while the rest of the supporters waved the flags placed in all the seats of the stadium, by the club.
To round off the atmosphere at La Cerámica, in the 12th minute, around 19,000 fans gave a standing ovation to Villarreal CF vice-president José Manuel Llaneza, who is going through a difficult personal moment. In addition, both in the South Stand and in the corner, the fans of the Submarine have dedicated banners of support for the Yellow director.
