Emery: “We didn’t create enough chances”

The Yellows head coach underlined his team’s hard work, despite not being able to beat valiant Huesca side

Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the press in a remote press conference to analyse the draw against SD Huesca (0-0): “We’re going away unsatisfied because we dropped two points. Despite that, we put in a solid performance, stopping them from creating chances. We had control, but we found it hard to create chances to decide the game. We need to take small steps forward in order to get a win.”

Emery analysed the high amount of draws that the Yellows have so far this season: “Draws are good, if they’re accompanied by wins. If you draw, and then you lose, the draws penalise you. Today we wanted the three points, but we came up against an opponent who had a lot to play for, who defended very well, and you need to appreciate their performance.”

Finally, the Basque manager underlined his demands for the team’s consistency: “I’m happy with the work, the attitude and the trajectory up to now. The team is on the right path. We have to continue to work hard to find more consistency that would allow us to fight to be in the top four. Despite today’s draw being a setback, we’re still in that fight.”
