Dozens of fans enjoyed themselves before the activity was interrupted in the Fan Zone at the Estadio de la Cerámica

Villarreal CF, through the Endavant Solidarity initiative and in collaboration with the Coquistando Escalones Association, organised the first charity globet season, which took place in the Fan Zone before the match against Valencia CF. Heavy rain interrupted the event, which will be resumed at a later date.

Before the suspension, dozens of ‘groguets’ enjoyed this relaxed solidarity tournament, which has been broadcast freely on Twitch, where viewers from around the world have been able to donate through the official channel of Abrahán Guirao (Turbolover1984).

Collaborate with the solidarity campaign ‘El Globet Groguet’.

  • The aim of organising the tournament is to raise funds for research into Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F/D2 and HIV.
  • If you are an individual, you can donate right now at this LINK, and there are also rewards for donors and raffles of gifts that will be unveiled.
  • If you are a company and want to promote your brand at the event, contact us at administracion@conquistandoescalones.org.
  • In addition, during the season on 19 April in the run-up to #VillarrealValencia there will be boxes available for donations.

WHAT IS CONQUISTANDO ESCALONES?

The Conquistando Escalones Association is made up of people affected by a rare, genetic, hereditary and degenerative disease called Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy 1F/D2. A few years ago it was discovered that the mutation that causes it makes them immune to HIV.

The association supports the research of a large group of scientists who are looking for a cure for their condition as well as new treatments for HIV.

This research is carried out in a coordinated way in centres such as La Fe in Valencia, the Carlos III Institute in Madrid, the University of Valencia, the University of Bologna and the IRCCS San Camillo in Venice, in collaboration with many other laboratories in countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Belgium, among others.
