The Yellows have included the Europa League title and the first promotion to the second division in their special walk of fame at the Estadio de la Cerámica
Villarreal CF presented this Tuesday the new sections included in the Passeig Groc at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The Yellows have added two of the most important moments in the club’s history to this particular Submarine’s walk of fame: the UEFA Europa League title won in 2021 and the first promotion to the second division in the 1969/70 season.
The presentation ceremony, led by president Fernando Roig, was attended by leading figures from both of Villarreal CF’s historic teams. Manu Trigueros and Pau Torres attended the Passeig Groc presentation on behalf of the squad that won the UEFA Europa League title, while former players Alapont, Casalta, Rodri, Masiá, Luis Moreno and Chumillas, as well as a large representation of family members of former players and directors linked to that glorious era of the Submarine, attended the event.
To round off the event, after the unveiling of both images, the Villarreal CF president, accompanied by Manu Trigueros and Juan Antonio Alapont, appeared before the media in the press room at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
