Cup history with the blue-and-whites

There is Copa del Rey history between Villarreal and Leganés, as both teams faced each other in the Round of 64 in the 1999/2000 season. In the first leg, played at the El Madrigal stadium, as Villarreal’s ground was formerly known, Leganés beat the Yellows 0-1 (James Madariaga), but the Yellow Submarine got through to the next round after a 0-3 win in the return leg (Jorge López, Alfaro and Javi Gracia).
