The midfielder from Málaga played his 100th game in a Yellow shirt against Las Palmas
Villarreal CF’s tricky winger, Samu Castillejo, has joined the ‘100 club’. Castillejo started the match against Las Palmas on 22nd October 2017 at the Estadio de la Cerámica which was his 100th official match for the Yellow Submarine.
Samu Castillejo came to Villarreal CF for the the 2015/16 season and since he has become one of the most loved players by Yellows fans. His first game for Villarreal dates back to 23rd August 2015 when he made his debut against Real Betis away at the Benito Villamarín stadium (1-1), on LaLiga Matchday 1 of the 2015/16 season. From that moment on, Castillejo has a total of 6 goals and 10 assists for Villarreal, the latest of these assists set up Bakambu’s opening goal in yesterday’s match against Las Palmas.
In the current Villarreal CF squad, six players have surpassed the 100-match mark dressed in Yellow. Bruno Soriano (418), Mario Gaspar (279), Manu Trigueros (226), Jaume Costa (187), Víctor Ruiz (131) and Sergio Asenjo (121) also form part of this select group.
