The experienced Italian centre back assured “I train hard everyday for when it’s my turn to play”

Daniele Bonera is an example to follow. The experienced Italian defender returned to the starting lineup against Granada CF and put in a great performance. The number 23 works his hardest in every training session so he can keep helping the team when called upon: “I’m happy about the match the other day. I was a bit doubtful because to play a match after so long is not easy, but physically I felt good. I train as though I’m going to play a match every Sunday. The biggest worry was physical, I was doubtful, but I’m ready to play matches and help the team”.

Bonera assured that he feels supported by the Manager, his teammates and fans: “I try always to be in good condition physically, but it’s the Managers decision. When I go on the pitch I know the Manager, my teammates and the fans have confidence in me”.

The Italian defender also warned that the upcoming match against Sevilla (Sunday, 12pm CET) will not be easy at all : “We know it’s a tough match. It will be a challenging atmosphere and we will play against a difficult side that are in second place. They’re physical, but up top they also have quality. Sevilla all work hard for the team. They fight for the whole match”.

Bonera also referred to the Winter ‘reinforcements’ for Villarreal: “Soldado is a player who had an incredible season last year, Bakambu and Denis Cheryshev will also return and they’re in good shape. It’s like having three new players and this is fundamental in a team like Villarreal”.
