“I’m happy with and grateful for my evolution at Villarreal”

The academy graduate has assured that the team will try to finish the season in the best possible way

Villarreal CF goalkeeper, Filip Jörgensen, appeared before the media in the press room of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to talk about the team’s current situation and his current position in the team.

These are the most important declarations of the young goalkeeper:

Final stretch of the season

“We are going to face the final stretch of the season as we have done in the last few games. We want to win all the remaining games and we are going to work hard to do so. I think we all want to show our best level at all times. We are professionals and we are going in with the mentality of winning”.

Evaluation of his first year at Villarreal

“When you start playing in a new team and a new league it’s always difficult at the beginning, but you learn from every game, every training session, from the head coach, from your teammates… and in the end you end up improving. I’m happy to have been able to play and have continuity and I’m grateful to all those who have put their trust in me.

“I’m a fairly calm person and I always knew the level I could end up giving, I think I’ve seen an improvement with the passing of the games and a good evolution.”

Pepe Reina, a key figure in his growth

“Pepe is a 10 out of 10 as a person, he helps me a lot and he’s a great goalkeeper as we all know. He has given me a lot of advice both on and off the pitch, he gives me peace of mind and helps me to be less frustrated. He has been very important for me this season.”

Sevilla FC, next up

“We’ve had a very good second half of the season. The numbers speak for themselves and we want to finish the season in the best possible way. The first thing we need to do is to beat Sevilla, a difficult game, but we are convinced that if we show our best level we can win.”
