The tennis star, who belongs to the Endavant Esports programme, used his time in Australia due to the open to go and see the academy
Players from Villarreal Melbourne Academy had a great surprise! Roberto Bautista visited one of Villarreal’s international academies in the Oceanic country, making the most of his participation in the Australian Open. The recognised athlete was welcomed by academy director Minos Paterakis, and signed shirts and got photographs with future stars who are learning under the Submarine’s methodology in Australia.
A leading figure for Endavant Esports
Roberto Bautista is one of athletes who is linked to the Yellow Submarine through the Endavant Esports gramme, Villarreal CF’s sports sponsorship programme, which supports 33 clubs and 16 individual elite athletes from the province of Castellón. Just this week, Villarreal have announced the renewal of the project for yet another season, with Bautista being a key part of the programme. The tennis player is currently 18th in the ATP rankings.
Villarreal Melbourne Academy
The academy in Melbourne joined the Yellows family in early 2020. Coaches from the Yellows Academy started off by heading down under to give clinics to young Australians and now it is one of the leading academies in the Villarreal Academy project, with a number of its players able to visit Villarreal CF’s facilities in Spain as part of their learning process.
