The Villarreal goalkeeper hailed his team-mates and their impressive performance against a brave and intense Rayo Vallecano side
Villarreal goalkeeper Andrés Fernández appeared in front of the press after the Yellows’ 0-2 win over Rayo Vallecano. The footballer hailed the performance put in by all of his team-mates, to get through to the Copa del Rey quarter-finals: “We knew that Rayo were going to push. We had to be focused, helping the team as much as possible. All of us did our job well.”
The Yellows goalkeeper was excited ahead of the draw for the next round, and recognised that he would like to play the quarter-finals at the Estadio de la Cerámica: “It would be nice to play at home. A life-or-death game to get to the Copa del Rey semi-finals. A very special match for the fans.”
