An evenly-balanced derby
An evenly-balanced derby

Sara Monforte has highlighted the good form of the Yellows while warning of the attacking danger of Valencia CF (Saturday, 4:30pm CET)

Villarreal Women’s head coach Sara Monforte spoke at a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s derby against Valencia CF at the Estadio Antonio Puchades (Paterna) on Saturday at 4.30pm. The ‘groguetes’ want to maintain their good run of results against a possible direct rival and win the regional derby.

Here is what she had to say:

Best moment of form for the team

“The team, after two consecutive victories, are at their best. Except for Irene Miguélez, all the players are available and everyone is training at a very good level.”

Going for the derby

“I think that, as we are seeing, it will be one of the most evenly matched derbies in the history of women’s football. The moment we get there, our form matter, it’s a different game. It will be very close, and the small details will make the difference.”

The opposition

“They’re a team that concedes a lot of goals, but up front they create a lot of danger and they have decisive players with a lot of goals. It’s true that they’ve had a lot of players missing in defence. We’ve also suffered from that and it means you can’t have that defensive solidity, but tomorrow we’ll see a solid Valencia side that will make it very difficult for us.”

Return of Rocío García

“Rocío is training very well, she is another option and hopefully tomorrow she can make her comeback, because she is a very direct player who has a lot of desire.”
