The Villarreal CF and Levante UD starting XIs got a photo yesterday before kick-off with children from ASPANION (Asociación de Padres de Niños con Cáncer – Association of Parents of Children with Cancer) to give visibility to the International Day Against Childhood Cancer. A nice gesture.
Those same children visited a first-team training session the week before, sharing unique moments with Villarreal players. All of them collaborated with the ‘Pain The Path Pink’ initiative for ASPANION.
A strong commitment to charity
Villarreal CF, through Endavant Solidaritat, always have backed the fight against childhood cancer. The Yellows previously played a match against Celtic FC at the Estadio de la Cerámica (then known as El Madrigal) as part of the ‘United for Hope’ project, with the aim of raising funds and financing research at La Fe Hospital in Valencia to improve the quality of life for children who survive childhood cancer. That friendly saw the involvement of Gohan, a child whose dream came true.
