The full-back dominated the left wing and provided the assist for Villarreal’s first goal

A complete performance. Alfonso Pedraza was crucial in Villarreal’s victory over Real Valladolid (2-0). The defender from Córdoba played some killer passes from the left wing and set up Chukwueze for the first goal. He got to the ball ahead of his opponent, winning the ball back and then got past two Valladolid defenders with great speed and played an excellent driven ball into the heart of the box where Chukwueze got on the end of it and fired home.

As well as the assist, it should also be mentioned that Pedraza was the player to make the most sprints in Unai Emery’s side, reaching a speed of more than 21km/h in 37 plays.

In the 66 minutes he was on the pitch at the Estadio de la Cerámica, the Yellows No.24 interacted with 67 plays making him one of the key attacking players for Emery’s Villarreal. He completed 87% of passes, had a shot and, brave in his dribbling, successfully completed 71% of his runs with the ball.

Defensively, his performance was also impeccable. In less than 70 minutes, he won six balls and 100% of aerial battles.
