A total of 36 footballers from Argentina have represented Villarreal CF

A historic tradition. Villarreal CF and Argentina have always had a very special connection. In the 97 years of the club’s history, a total of 36 players with this nationality have represented the Yellows.

Many of the Argentinians who played for Villarreal were emblematic of their era, and left a mark at the club. Martín Palermo, Rodolfo Martín Arruabarrena, Juan Román Riquelme, Juampi Sorín, Gonzalo Rodríguez, Guille Franco and Mateo Musacchio are just a few examples.

In August 2017, Villarreal CF travelled to play a historic friendly game against Boca Juniors at La Bombonera. The club used their time in the country to celebrate the Argentines who have played for the club.
