Eight young Yellows and the Villarreal U19 C team honoured at the 2016/17 Gala
The Valencian Community Football Federation (FFCV) presented eight Yellows Academy players and the U19 C team in the annual awards ceremony for the 2016/17 season held at the Auditorio Mar Rojo del Oceanogàfic in Valencia. The event was also attended by member of the club’s Institutional Relations department, Tino Traver.
The young Yellows received awards for representing Spain’s youth teams, while the Villarreal U19 C team received their award for winning their group in the Segunda Regional division. Luismi Loro, current member of the Villarreal CF first team coaching staff was also honoured by the federation as he hung up his boots at the end of last season after an impressive playing career.
Awards presented to Villarreal were the following:
- Group I Champions in the Segunda Regional division: U19 C team.
- U17 World Cup Runners-up: Marc Vidal, Carlos Beitia and Nacho Díaz.
- Spain U16: Iván Morante and Alejandro Baena.
- Spain U18: Álex Millán and Joan Salvà.
- Spain U19: Pepe Castaño.
- Silver medal for players: Luismi Loro.
