Villarreal Women head coach Sara Monforte predicts a very difficult match against Real Madrid (Saturday, 7pm CET)

Villarreal Women head coach Sara Monforte is confident of her team’s chances in next Saturday’s match against Real Madrid CF at the Mini Estadi (7pm CET), although she acknowledges that it will be a tough game against a strong opponent.

“The team is in good shape, as it has been for the last few weeks, except for the absence of Miguélez. We’re looking forward to the match. It will be a tough game against one of the best sides in the league. The team is in good spirits after the draw,” she commented.

As for the analysis of the rival, Sara Monforte highlighted the potential of the Whites: “Surely, alongside Barça, they have the best squad in the league. They put you under pressure because they have a very large squad. We have to defend a lot of situations on the wings. If you lose concentration in one situation, they’ll score a goal. We’re solid and we’ll try to make sure they create as little danger as possible and we’ll also try to keep the ball.”

The Yellows’ head coach also sent a message to the fans: “It’s a good day to come, it’s a public holiday and at a good time. It’s a very nice match. Last home match I was disappointed with the result because more people are coming. There are more and more of them and it gives us a lot of encouragement.”

Sara Monforte praised the tremendous effort and performance of her players this season: “In many moments, I have the feeling that the season we are having is not valued enough. We are a very consistent team. That says a lot about the performance of the players. The head coach of Levante Las Planas congratulated us in the last game. The team is more settled and it shows. There’s a long way to go and it’s not easy, but we have to continue to be solid and regular. We are very happy because they are having an amazing season.”

Finally, the Villarreal Women coach praised Kayla McKenna’s goalscoring ability. She has scored seven goals this season, the last one against Levante Las Planas: “The goal was not easy. She is a player who is giving us a lot. We didn’t expect her to perform so well. She’s an example to everyone for everything she generates, she holds the ball up a lot and offers a lot to her team-mates. She’s the best professional I’ve had since I’ve been a coach.”
