Goalkeeper Fátima Fabra and forward Kennedy Kessler join the Yellows first team

The Ladies First Team has strengthened their squad with talent and quality. Sara Monforte’s side have signed up two new players, goalkeeper Fátima Fabra and forward Kennedy Kessler for the second half of the season.

Fátima Fabra (Deltebre, 24). She is an experienced goalkeeper, who is comfortable with using her feet and impressive reflexes between the sticks. She started in the football world at Club Deportiu La Cava. Shen then continued her growth in two Portuguese sides, GCD A-Dos-Francos and Grupo Desportivo Estroil Praia. The Catalan goalkeeper says she’s ‘excited’ to be arriving at Villarreal CF and ‘can’t wait’ to continue growing as a player with the Yellows.

Kennedy Kessler (Texas, 22). She is an American attacker who can play both as a No.10 or lead the attacking line. She is versatile and has a real nose for a goal, Kessler scored 84 goals in 89 matches, including 37 assists during her time at Hardin-Simmons University. In this match she was awarded striker of her year twice for her university league. As well as representing Hardin-Simmons University, she has represented Texas Spurs and Adromeda Soccer Club in WPSL. She arrives from the United States with the aim of ‘helping the team with my goals to carry on getting victories.’

In terms of departures, goalkeeper Lourdes Vilches has left, and Villarreal CF wish her the best of luck for the rest of her career.
