Villarreal CF and Angers SCO have come to a transfer agreement for the French-Cameroonian striker

Villarreal CF have come to a transfer agreement with Angers SCO for striker Toko Ekambi, who is now linked to the Yellows for the next five seasons. The French-Cameroonian striker, who was one of the huge sensations in European football last season, is a luxury reinforcement for the Yellow Submarine ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Official presentation, tomorrow in Vila-real (12:30pm)

The player’s official presentation will take place this Friday at 12:30pm CEST at the Colegio Público José Soriano in Vila-real at the end of the school day and will be open to the public and the media.

A natural-born striker

Karl Toko Ekambi (Paris, 14/09/1992) grew up playing for Paris FC’s youth academy, a club that he made his professional debut for in the French third division. After three seasons at the Paris club, the French-Cameroonian moved on to Sochaux-Montbèliard, where he soon showed his innate goal scoring ability, scoring 25 goals in two seasons. In 2016, Ekambi made the step up to Angers SCO, the club he made his debut with in Ligue 1 two seasons ago. This past season, Toko Ekambi scored 17 goals.

At 25 years old, the forward is a regular in the Cameroon national team. He has represented the ‘The Untameable Lions’ on 17 occasions.

Toko Ekambi stands out for his speed and goal scoring prowess. He is an excellent athlete, with great accuracy when finishing, skill in one-on-one situations and has a big influence on the team’s play. Even though he is right-footed, the French-Cameroonian has a great shot with both feet. At just 25 years of age, he has all the qualities to triumph in Spanish football.
