Mario Gaspar has underlined the importance of being in the best shape possible
Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar appeared in front of the club’s official media team this lunchtime to analyse the current goings-on regarding the Submarine, who are now training in groups of up to 14 players: “Each day, this seems more like football, like what we work on during the season. We can’t wait to be able to all work together to get a rhythm going before the return of LaLiga.”
The right-back underlined the importance of the upcoming weeks to arrive at the restart of LaLiga in good shape: “We have to work hard to be in a good place for the last games of the season. We’ve been training at home, but with limitations. What you can do at home isn’t the same as football training. Now it’s time to get used to training at speed, to stopping and starting to be ready when the league is back and avoid injuries.”
The Villarreal No.2 recognised the teams wishes to end the season well, which would allow the Submarine to fight for the European spots: “We want to end the season well and fight to be towards the top. There’s a bit of scope but it will be very important to get good results in the first few matches.”
