Marcelino analyses AS Monaco FC, the Yellows’ rival in the Champions League Play-offs
Villarreal CF manager, Marcelino García Toral, analysed the Submarine’s rival in the UEFA Champions League Play-offs at midday today. The manager warned that AS Monaco FC are a strong side: “They will be a difficult opponent, we’ve been drawn against Monaco, but I think it’s much more important to have luck in the match than in the draw. We’ve never had to play the first leg away from home. We’ve got through big ties against hard teams playing at home first. We’ve overcome tough ties like this one before”.
According to Marcelino, it will be a very even match: “I see it as a very even tie, as we both play in very good leagues. Monaco have are an economically powerful club with great players. On a physical level, they will play two more matches than us, but we have started our preparation process in a similar way. I think it will be a great play-off”.
The Submarine manager is clear on the fact that they must continue with maximum concentration: “It will be a match decided by small details. Both clubs are very important, both have an attractive style of play and therefore it will be a great match”.
