Javi Calleja is backing his team to be well-organised and dangerous in attack to get something positive against FC Barcelona

Villarreal manager Javi Calleja appeared in front of the press to analyse the build-up to the match against FC Barcelona this Tuesday at 9pm at the Camp Nou. The Yellows manager underlined that the Submarine are in good form after two wins in a row: “We’re facing one of the best clubs in the world. It will be very difficult, but we believe in ourselves and we’ve had good results.”

Furthermore, Calleja underlined his satisfaction at the Yellows performances in the opening games of the season: “I like how the team is playing, especially in the last few games. We’re attacking in style, managing to make the opponent uncomfortable and scoring goals. We’ve been more rigorous tactically which has allowed us to dominate and let the matches go in our favour.”

He expects Barcelona to look for possession and try and take initiative. “They’re a team with a lot of talent. They have experience and security, as well as a lot of talent. They’ll be looking to cause problems for the opposition goal.” Calleja underlines that the Yellows will be loyal to their playing style. “We’re not going to renounce our attacking nature. We want to defend like we’ve been doing in the last few games and make the most of our attacking outlets to cause them damage. We should stay well-drilled. This will allows us to recover more balls, attack better and make them uncomfortable.”
