Javi Calleja underlines Villarreal’s good performance, although he believes the Yellows lacked cutting edge

Villarreal manager Javi Calleja highlighted the good performance by the Yellows, despite the defeat: “You saw a good match. We dominated for 70 minutes, but we didn’t know how to dominate on the scoreboard. When we had chances, we didn’t know how to make the most of them and we went behind. We’re leaving without much of a prize for what you saw.”

The Yellows boss recognised that the Yellows lacked cutting edge in terms of scoring at Mestalla: “The team dominates, plays well, scores goals, creates chances, but is lacking the killer instinct of the teams at the top of the table. We need to be calmer when making some decisions.”
