On the match
“I’m quite satisfied with what I saw on the pitch because the players did a lot of the things we talked about in the dressing room. We played for a long time in the opposition half and we were able to manage the ball well, although it’s true that there were some losses due to precipitation, but they interpreted well what I was asking them to do. We managed to keep them close to their box, which is what we need to do to stay close to goal.”

“We’re not in the best condition. We have several injured players and some players are not at their best because they are coming back from long term injuries, but I’ve had a good impression of the team. They are great players who understand things right away and I like that.”

“At Villarreal they knew me and they are happy with my idea of the way I play. Also the players, who are going to be happy because the context is positive for them and we are going to see many of them grow. It’s true that the demands and concentration will be high for them, but I’m sure they will enjoy themselves. After today’s game, I’m satisfied with a lot of things in relation to what I was aiming for, although it’s true that we need to fine-tune and re-adjust certain aspects.”
