Villarreal Women shine in Ibaia (0-4)

An impressive Villarreal Women side get their first win in Liga F against Deportivo Alavés

It was a hard fought game from the start, in which neither side was able to impose their rhythm thanks to the good defensive positioning of both sides. As the minutes went by, Deportivo Alavés became more comfortable and had the first dangerous chances after the midway point of the first half, with Sara Carrillo and Camila Sáez both hitting the crossbar. However, the Yellows did not give up and were rewarded for their efforts. In the 34^th  minute, Kanteh set up Sheila for the Valencian striker to put Villarreal ahead before the break (0-1).

In the second half, and being buoyed on by the goal, Sara Monforte’s team improved as the game went on. The home team tried to draw level, but the Yellows knew how to take advantage of the spaces left by their opponents. In the 62^nd minute, Kanteh, with a great run of pace, placed the ball in the back of the next perfectly for the second goal. Belén Martínez joined the party in the 75^th minute, nodding the ball into the back of the net after a great cross from Estefa Lima. Just five minutes later, Sheila put the game to bed with her second goal, and the team’s fourth.
