The reserves beat Teruel with goals from Ramón Bueno and Nikola in a rainy match

Villarreal B came away from their visit to CD Teruel with an important and well-fought win thanks to goals from Ramón Bueno and Nikola Vujnovic (0-2). The clash was affected by the heavy rain which meant that the Pinilla pitch was a hard surface to play on, with a number of puddles. Despite that, the Mini Submarine knew how to play the match to perfection.

The Yellows reserves went ahead in the 13th minute. Chuca played a free-kick in from the wing and Bueno arrived in the area to connect with a great header that flew into the back of the net (0-1).

From then on, Teruel pushed, but Villarreal B held strong. The Yellows defence did not overcomplicate things when playing the ball out from the back, despite the puddles making the game difficult.

But each long ball from the Yellows defence was jumped on by the Villarreal B forwards to try and cause danger. The goal to make it 0-2 came from that. Simón Moreno received the ball wide on the left, and played it to the back post for Nikola to score the second with a right-footed volley (m.42).

Villarreal B were able to hold on to their lead in the second half. Joan Femenías did make two great saves to keep out Teruel headers though. At the end of the game, it was a hard-fought and deserved victory for Miguel Álvarez’s side.
