The Yellows Reserves beat Teruel with an impressive performance at the Mini Estadi

Villarreal B came away with a victory after a complete match against CD Teruel at the Mini Estadi. The Yellows Reserves were superior and could have scored even more. At the end, the goals from Simón Moreno, Dani Villa and Rubén Mesa meant the Mini Submarine finished the match as winners (3-0).

The match started with a scare. Teruel goalkeeper Valera had to leave the pitch after a clash with Moreno. He was unable to continue after suffering concussion.

After having various clear goalscoring opportunities, Villarreal B got ahead on the scoreboard in the 38th minute. Moreno channelled his inner Diego Maradona, jinking past various players before scoring with his right foot (1-0).

The other two goals came in the second half. The 2-0 was from Villa. The striker got on to a loose ball, firing a powerful right-footed shot past the keeper at the near post (min. 65). The third and final goal came in the 82nd minute. Mesa, who had been on the pitch for just nine minutes, fired a perfect effort which went in the top corner (3-0).

This result puts Villarreal B top of Segunda División B Group 3, waiting for Lleida Esportiu and Hércules to play on Sunday.
