“It’s a positive point”

Quique Setién has expressed his satisfaction with the team’s work to earn a point in Vigo

Villarreal CF head coach Quique Setién spoke at the post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw against RC Celta de Vigo. These were his words after the draw at Balaídos:

A positive point

“I value the point positively because RC Celta did well in some parts of the game to score more goals. During the second half we had to suffer a lot because they put a lot of pressure on us, but we knew how to suffer, which is also important in football and that’s why I value the point positively.”

A game of two halves

“The match had two very different halves. In the first half we were good, although it’s true that we could have done more damage. At times we also lacked the aggressiveness that we’ve had in other games to try to do some damage, but we also had to control Celta, who are a team that really commit you and have great players who can do a lot of damage.

“In the second half we suffered a lot, we weren’t able to push forward as much as we would have liked because we were conditioned by our physical condition. We were able to dig in, which is important and get a point”.

Gerard Moreno

“He is an extraordinary and very versatile player who gives us a lot of things. I’m delighted with his goal, his performance was extraordinary.”
