Pau and Raba, both starters in the cup, analysed the victory against Ponferradina
Academy players Dani Raba and Pau Francisco Torres were both in the starting lineup yesterday for the Villarreal first team and were key in the Yellow Submarine’s victory over SD Ponferradina in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey (3-0). Chuca was also in the starting eleven with them, another one of the most promising players in the Yellows Academy at present. In fact, in the final minutes of the game, seven players on the pitch were formed at the Villarreal CF Acdemy (Pau, Jaume Costa, Rodrigo, Raba, Chuca, Fornals and Trigueros).
Midfielder Dani Raba emphasised the Submarine’s great performance: “We put in a great shift. We went out there with intensity, gave the game a high tempo and achieved our objective”. For his part, Pau Francisco Torres praised the Yellows’ composure to execute the comeback: “We dominated at all times. We were calm in our pursuit to score goals and that got us through to the next round”.
