Javi Calleja chooses 19 players for the European clash at th Astana Arena (Thursday, 5pm CET)
Villarreal Manager, Javi Calleja, has announced his lost of players to travel to Kazakhstan for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League match against FC Astana. The match will be played at the Astana Arena at 5pm (live on beIN Sports).
19 chosen players (one player will be excluded last minute):
- Goalkeepers: Barbosa, Cantero and Fuoli (number 36).
- Defenders: Mario, Rukavina, Marín, Costa, Víctor Ruiz, Bonera and Álvaro.
- Midfielders: Rodrigo, Trigueros, Soriano, Fornals, Ramiro (number 26) and Raba (number 28).
- Strikers: Sansone, Bacca and Bakambu.
Injured
- Sergio Asenjo: Lumboscialtagia.
- Andrés Fernández: In rehabilitation after tear of anterior cruciate ligament in right knee.
- Ruben Semedo: Muscular injury to rectus femoris in right leg.
- Samu Castillejo: Muscular injury to rectus femoris in left leg.
- Denis Cheryshev: Hamstring strain in left leg.
Travel Plan
The Villarreal expedition will set off at 11pm from Valencia Airport with destination Astana International Airport. Once in Kazakhstan, the Yellows will be transported by bus to the Hotel Radisson Blu Astana and in the afternoon they will train at the Astana Arena at 2pm. Half an hour before, at 1:30pm, Javi Calleja and a first team player will go before the media in the official UEFA press conference. The return journey will begin as soon as the match has finished.
