Villarreal B defeat a courageous Orihuela thanks to goals from Edu Espiau and Sofian Chakla to continue their spectacular start to the season

Villarreal B continue impressing. The Yellows reserve side got their third win out of three matched to defeat a combative Orihuela side with goals from Edu Espiau and Sofian Chakla. The away side drew level through José Carlos, but were unable to hold out against the relentless pressure from the Mini Submarine, who came away with a deserved three points.

The first goal came with 11 minutes on the clock. Espiau pounced on a loose ball in the box and beat Emilio calmly (1-0).

Villarreal B dominated the whole game, although they had to suffer to win. Orihuela drew level with a well-worked move than was finished by José Carlos (m.29).

In the second half, Miguel Álvarez sent on all his attacking might from the bench, including Simón Moreno, who once more put on the Villarreal B shirt after his loan moves to Almería and Málaga collapsed.

The manager’s braveness paid off. Juan Agüero played a ball into the box, and Chakla appeared to power home a great header to make it 2-1 (m.80).

Next up for Villarreal B is an away trip to Llagostera.
