The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter comes to an end

A total of 67 teams competed to enter the exciting tournament organised by Villarreal CF

The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter draws to a close. The youth football tournament organised by Villarreal CF and held at five different venues – the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground being the main one – came to an end this morning after the finals and the presentation of prizes to the champions of each group and the best players of the tournament.

The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter 2024 brought together more than 15,000 people from Thursday 28th March to Sunday 31st March to support the more than 180 teams who fought to make their mark in a prestigious tournament contested by the biggest names in Spanish football and, in turn, on the international scene. Majestic Club, from Colombia, has been one of them in this edition.

On Sunday, the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground has hosted the finals of each group, determining the winners of the tournament. Villarreal CF, the host team, won the U13s girls’ group.. The ambassador and former captain, Marcos Senna, was photographed with each of the winning teams during the prize-giving ceremony.

Pepe Reina, Eric Bailly, Maria Llompart and Elena de Toro, guests of honour

Pepe Reina and Eric Bailly, first team players, and Maria Llompart and Elena de Toro, Villarreal Women’s players, did not want to miss this great event and, after their respective training sessions last Friday, they went to the grassroots pitches to meet many of the participants, sign autographs and take photographs with them.

An unforgettable kick-off party at the Estadio de la Cerámica

Although the first matches of the group stage began on Friday, Villarreal CF welcomed all the participating teams last Thursday with a spectacular welcome party at the Estadio de la Cerámica, where all the teams paraded around the Submarine’s stadium, while their visibly excited supporters applauded, sang and danced. It was a brutal atmosphere.

As well as enjoying an exclusive cocktail party, the participants danced to the rhythm of the music and were thrilled by a spectacular light show that brought the Yellow Cup Easter to a close. To round off the evening, Villarreal ended the evening with a fireworks display that amazed the attendees.
