Calleja’s side this afternoon trained at the Kirchbichl Training Centre

This afternoon, the Villarreal CF first team have trained at the Kirchbichl training centre. The Yellow Submarine are taking part in a pre-season camp until 3rd August in the tourist area of Kufsteinerland (Austria), also also known as the Entry Point to Tyrolean Alps, where the team will stay until Saturday 3rd August. During this time, The Yellows will face FC Augsburg (26th July, 6pm CEST), FC Köln (28th July, 6:15pm CEST) and FC Schalke 04, 2nd August, 6pm CEST) in the ‘Hero Cup’, sponsored by Lottohelden.de.

The camp in Austria, organised by ‘Onside Sports Iberia’ a company that provides crucial support to the club in this type of activities, will be the only period of the summer that the club spends outside of the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva).

The Yellows left Castellón Airport at 12:30pm in a chartered flight to Salzburg Airport. Once arrived, the first team checked in at the Welness Schloss Panorama Royal Hotel in Bad Häring.

Samu Chukwueze will join the Yellows during the camp after his holidays for taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
