The Yellows have been strengthened with the arrivals of Ayaki Shinada and Celia Fernández

Villarreal Ladies First Team have continued to make the best squad possible ahead of their debut in the newly-formed Primera B division. After confirming the contract renewals of 13 players (Aixa Salvador, Lara Mata, Laura Royo, María Colonques, Sheila Guijarro, Naiara Ves, Jessica Collado, Clara Martínez, Cristina Díaz, María Sanjuán, Silvia Gallego, Yolanda Palomino and María Ortells), as well as the arrival of goalkeeper Paula Campos and midfielder Bea Prades, the Yellows have strengthened once more with the arrival of two new players, Japanese central defender Ayaki Shinada, who arrives from RCD Espanyol, and full-back Celia Fernández, who joins from Real Oviedo.

Ayaki Shinada, versatility for the Yellows backline

Ayaki Shinada (Tokyo, 15/09/1992) is a versatile defender, who can play either at full-back or in the heart of defence. Among her best qualities are her ability to play out from the back and her range of long passes. Aged just 26, the Japanese player has a lot of experience behind her. After playing for Swedish side Kungsbacka and Finnish team Aland United, she moved to the Liga Iberdrola with RCD Espanyol. She now joins Villarreal with the aim of helping the Yellows as they start their Primera B journey.

Celia Fernández Arias, talent and speed for the right flank

Celia Fernández Arias (Pravia, 04/08/1998) is a talented right-back. Despite her defensive role, she shines through her ability to join the attack. Arriving from Real Oviedo, where she played a total of three seasons in the Liga Iberdrola, she took her first steps in football from her village side CD Villa de Pravia. Furthermore, she has represented Spain at youth level – featuring for the U17s.
